Hallo Ihr lieben und willkommen zu meinen ersten Blogpost über meinen ersten Trip meines Reisemonats.
Wie ihr ja bereits wisst, ist meine "Base" ,wie ich sie momentan nenne, Clearwater. Hier habe ich die ersten Tage mit meiner Gastfamilie verbracht, bis es für uns alle gemeinsam auf Vancouver Island ging. Die Tage hier, waren super heiß. Höchsttemperaturen waren hier 46 grad, und somit hatten wir fast 100 Grad unterschied zum Winter in St. Paul. Es war echt richtig heftig. Nach 5 Minuten draußen laufen, war man echt fertig. Aus diesem Grund haben wir 2 Vormittage am See verbracht und am Nachmittag waren wir dann hauptsächlich drinnen im Haus, wo wir A/C haben. Am Montag ging es dann nach Kamloops, wo wir ein paar Besorgungen fürs Haus in Clearwater gemacht haben, Bre mit den Kindern im Kino war und ch in der Zeit in der Mall rumgelaufen bin.
Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post about my first trip of my travel month.
As you already know, my "base", as I currently call it, is Clearwater. I spent the first few days here with my host family until we all went to Vancouver Island together. The days here were super hot. The maximum temperature here was 46 degrees. It was really really intense. After walking outside for 5 minutes, you were really exhausted. For this reason we spent 2 mornings at the lake and in the afternoon we were mainly inside the house, where we have A / C. On Monday we went to Kamloops, where we bought some things for the house in Clearwater, Bre went to the movie theatre with the kids and I walked around the mall during that time.
Am Mittwoch ging es dann los Richtung Vancouver Island. Erster Stop war die Fähre. 5 Stunden Fahrt zur Fähre. Dort angekommen mussten wir noch ein wenig warten, bis wir auf die Fähre konnten. Die Zeit haben wir genutzt, um etwas zu essen und die Kinder konnten sich nach dem langem im Autositzen auf dem Spielplatz austoben. Auf der Fähre angekommen, sind wir direkt hoch und raus aufs obere Deck, wovon man eine unglaubliche Aussicht hatte. Dort haben wir ein wenig gespielt, natürlich Bilder gemacht und ich habe mich dann noch einig drinnen umgeschaut. Nach 1,5 Stunden waren wir dann am Terminal auf Vancouver Island angekommen. Von dort aus ging es zum Haus von Bre's Cousine, wo wir 4 Nächte verbracht haben.
Nachdem Bre, ihre Cousine und ich am selben Abend noch bei 2 Flachen wein gequatscht haben, bin ich ins Bett gefallen.
On Wednesday we started our trip to Vancouver Island. First Stop was the ferry. It took us 5 hours to get to the ferry. At the ferry we needed to wait a little nit, so we used the time to eat something and the kids were able to play on the playground and loose some energy.
The first thing on the ferry was to get out on the highest deck at look outside. What a few! Awesome. The kids played a little bit outside and I used the time to walk around. After 1.5 hours on the ferry, we arrived at the Terminal in Victoria. From there we went to the house from Bre's Cousine, where we stayed for the 4 days in Victoria.
Bre, her cousine and I just talked and drank some wine. A perfect way to end the day.
CANADA DAY!
Am Donnerstag war Canada Day. Gestartet haben wir mit einem leckeren Frühstück, welches der Mann von Bre's Cousine vorbereitet hatte. Danach sind wir erstmal mit den Kids auf den Spielplatz und anschließend noch auf einen anderen Spielplatz direkt am Strand.
Nach dem Mittagessen sind Bre, J, die Kinder und ich noch nach Sidney gefahren. Dort sind wir ein bisschen durch den Ort geschlendert und anschließend noch ins "Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea", ein Aquarium.
Wieder zurück, gab es Abendessen - Pasta!
Nach dem Abendessen hatte mich der Sohn von Bre's Cousine gefragt, ob ich mit ihm und noch 3 weiteren Freunden in Victoria weg gehen möchte. Da habe ich natürlich zugesagt. Meine erste Erfahrung ins Kanadische Nachtleben rein zu schauen. Wir sind also mit dem Bus nach Downtown gefahren und haben uns mit seinen Freunden in einer Bar getroffen, wo Live Musik gespielt wurde. Nach ein paar drinks sind wir dann noch runter zur Habour gelaufen und anschließend noch zum Strand. Wir hatten uns ein Taxi zu dem Park bestellt, wo wir waren, um von dort aus nach Hause zu fahren.
Nach einer Stunde Wartezeit wurde uns das Taxi aber gecancelt. Also sind wir wieder zurück nach Downtown gelaufen und haben von dort aus ein Taxi genommen. Zwischen 2 und 3 waren wir dann wieder zu Hause und sind schlafen gegangen.
CANADA DAY!
Thursday was Canada Day! We started the day with a nice breakfast, which was cooked by Bre's cousins husband. After breakfast we walked to the playground and to the beach with another playground.
Back at home we had lunch and after that we drove to Sidney. Walked a little bit around, had a coffee and went to the "Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea" After Sidney we had supper at Bre's cousins house - Pasta!
After supper, the oldest son of Bre's cousins asked me if I wanted to go out with him and a few of his friends. Of course I said yes, I mean it was my first time to go out and see what the Canadian Nights have to offer ;)
We took the bus downtown and met his friends in a bar.
After a few drinks we walked to the Habour and after to a beach. At the beach, we called a cab for a ride home. After waiting for an hour we got a message, that the cab canceled our ride. So, we walked back downtown and grabbed a cab from there.
Nach einer kurzen Nacht von Donnerstag auf Freitag, ging es am Freitag erst an einen Strand zum Sea Glass suchen und anschließend nach Downtown zum Mittagessen. Anschließend sind Bre und ich noch in ein paar Läden und haben uns ein wenig umgeschaut. Auf dem Weg zur anderen Cousine von Bre sind Arwynn und ich im Auto eingeschlafen. Netterweise haben die anderen uns dann noch ein wenig schlafen gelassen. Als ich aufgewacht bin, wusste ich erstmal gar nicht wo ich war, haha, ich wohl ziemlich müde haha.
Abendessen hatten wir dann mit der Familie von Bre. Zu Hause haben wir dann noch ein Spiel gespielt, aber das war echt nichts für mich und ich kam gar nicht mit, unteranderem auch, weil ich total übermüdet war und ich richtig gemerkt habe, dass es mir von Minute zu Minute schlechter ging. Zum Glück haben wir nicht so "lange" gemacht und wir waren gegen 11 im Bett.
After a short night from Thursday on Friday, we went to a different beach on Friday and looked for sea glass. Subsequently we went downtown for lunch and Bre and I walked through a few stores.
On our way to Bre's other cousin, Arwynn and I fell asleep in the car, so the other ones left us in the car after we arrived at Bre's cousin house to let us sleep for a little while. When I woke up, I had no idea where I was haha. Whatever. I grabbed Arnie and we went inside to see the other ones. I was obviously really tired haha.
After supper we played a game. I had no idea what I needed to do and just kept watching. From minute to minute I felt more bad, got and headache and was just really really tired. Lucky for me, everyone went to bed something around 10 and 11.
Den Samstag haben wir mit einer kleinen Wanderung auf den Mount Douglas gestartet. Da hochzulaufen hat sich definitiv schon wegen der Aussicht rentiert. Wir konnten bis nach Amerika sehen!
Nach der Wanderung bin ich erstmal unter die dusche gesprungen und anschließend ging es auf das Baseballspiel von dem anderen Sohn von Bre's Cousine. Es war wirklich sehr interessant, auch wenn ich immer noch nicht so ganz die Regeln verstehe haha.
Anschließend sind die Erwachsenen weg gegangen und ich hatte die Kinder. Der ältere Sohn hatte mich unterstützt und gemeinsam sind wir dann mit den Kindern zum Strand auf den Spielplatz gelaufen. Dort konnten die Kinder sich austoben und anschließend gab es ein Eis für alle. Wieder zuhause, mussten die Kinder erstmal unter die Dusche, den diese waren von oben bis unten mit Eis haha.
Zum Abendessen hatten wir dann Sushi bestellt und die Kinder konnten noch einen Film schauen, bis es Bettzeit war.
Als die Erwachsenen wieder zu Hause waren, wurde erstmal Karaoke angemacht und wir haben bis 2 Uhr nachts Karaoke gesungen. Es war soo witzig, wir hatten echt unseren Spaß und haben viel gelacht.
We started the Saturday with a hike up the Mount Douglas. The few was breathtaking. We were able to look till the US!
After the hike I went for a quick shower and after that went for the baseball game from the youngest son of Bre's cousin.
It was really interesting even though I don't really understands the rules haha.
After the game the adults went out, and I spend the afternoon with the kids. The oldest of Bre's cousins sons helped me. We went to the playground at the beach, played and after that we had some ice cream.
For supper we ordered sushi and the kids watched a show till it was bedtime.
When the adults came back, we started to sing karaoke. It was so much fun and we had a lot to laugh.
Am Sonntag waren wir alle ziemlich platt und Bre und ich haben auf dem Weg nach Ladysmith auch erstmal geschlafen.
Genau, am Sonntag haben wir Victoria verlassen und sind für eine Nacht nach Ladysmith gefahren, wo der Arbeitskollege von J, der auch bei uns mit im Haus wohnt, wohnt. den frühen Nachmittag haben wir auf er Terrasse mit einer wundervollen Aussicht verbracht, und am späteren Nachmittag ging es dann an den Strand zum Kajak fahren.
So entspannt, mit dem Kajak auf dem Meer zu fahren und einfach den Moment genießen.
Am Abend wurde dann Lachs, Garnelen und Steak gerillt. Nach dem Abendessen saßen wir dann noch bs 10.00 am Feuer und haben uns unterhalten.
On Sunday we were all pretty exhausted and Bre and I also slept on the way to Ladysmith.
Exactly, on Sunday we left Victoria and went to Ladysmith for one night, where J's work colleague, who also lives in the house in Clearwater, lives. We spent the early afternoon on the deck with a wonderful view, and in the late afternoon we went kayaking on the sea.
So relaxed, kayaking on the sea and just enjoying the moment.
We had salmon, steak and shrimps for supper and after supper we just sat by the fire until 10am and talked.
Am Montag ging es dann weiter nach Ucuelet.
Auf dem Weg nach Ucuelet haben wir noch in Coombs angehalten bei einem Farmersmarket names "Goat on the roof" und tatsächlich war dort eine Ziege auf dem Dach hahah (siehe Bild)
Dort angekommen ist Bre mit den Kindern in ein anderes Aquarium gegangen und ich bin ein wenig rumgelaufen und J war mit Fynn spazieren.
Als wir dann alle wieder zusammen waren, haben wir Pizza bestellt und haben ein Picknick im Park gemacht. Nachdem wir im Hotel/Cabin eingecheckt hatten sind wir nochmal spazieren gegangen und zum Beach gelaufen.
Danach sind die Kids ins Bett und Bre, J und ich haben noch ein paar Runden Uno gespielt.
Es war sehr witzig und ich habe mich gefreut, dass wir noch zusammen saßen und was gespielt haben.
On Monday we went on to Ucuelet.
On the way to Ucuelet, we stopped in Coombs at a farmers' market called "Goat on the roof" and actually there was a goat on the roof hahah (see picture)
Once there, Bre went to another aquarium with the kids, I walked around a little and J was out for a walk with Fynn.
When we were all back together, we ordered pizza and had a picnic in the park. After we checked into the hotel / cabin we went for another walk and walked to the beach.
Then the kids went to bed and Bre, J and I played a few more rounds of Uno.
It was very funny and I was happy that we were sitting together and playing something.
Am Dienstag sind wir nach Tofino gefahren. Haben uns dort das zum Frühstück geholt, und sind im Ort rumgelaufen. Waren in ein paar Geschäften und waren am Wasser. Anschließend sind wir noch zum Long Beach gefahren und haben Zeit am Strand verbracht. Leider war es ziemlich bewölkt und man konnte nicht ganz soweit sehen. Ich hoffe wennich nächste Woche nochmal da bin, ist das Wetter ein wenig besser.
Zum Abendessen gab es dann Fish And Chips und nach dem Abendessen sind wir den Wild Pacific Trail gelaufen, naja, die kleinere route ;)
Als die Kinder dann im Bett waren, haben Bre, J und ich nochmal Uno gespielt.
On Tuesday we went to Tofino. Had some breakfast and walked around town. Visited a few stores and went to the water. After that we went to Long Beach and spent some time at the beach. Unfortunately it was quite cloudy and you couldn't see that far but I hope when I come back next week the weather will be a little better.
For supper we grabbed some fish and chips on the way and after supper we walked the Wild Pacific Trail, well, the smaller route;)
When the kids were in bed, Bre, J and I played Uno again.
Am Mittwochmorgen haben wir uns dan auf dem Heimweg nach Clearwater gemacht. Insgesamt haben wir 12 Stunden nach Hause gebraucht. Es war echt eine lange Fahrt und ich war auch echt kaputt als wir zwischen 9 und 10 angekommen sind.
On Wednesday morning we made our way home to Clearwater. It took us 12 hours to get home. It was a really long drive and I was really tired when we arrived between 9 and 10.
Das war es von mir. Mein erster Trip ist rum. Am Sonntag geht es auf den nächsten. Wieder Vancouver Island aber dieses mal mit 3 weitern Au Pairs. GIRLS TRIP!
Ich bin schon ganz gespannt was ich euch erzählen werde.

That was it from me. My first trip is over. On Sunday I'll start the next one. Again Vancouver Island but this time with 3 other Au Pairs. GIRLS TRIP!
